FieldStart is an 8-week summer program (July-August) for youth ages 14–30, hosted by Paynter's Fruit Market in West Kelowna.
You’ll gain hands-on farm experience, explore careers in agriculture, and build job readiness skills.
Work with ground crops and fruit trees
Learn harvesting, planting, soil care, and more
Potential for field trips to other farms
Meet mentors, get resume help, connections to hiring farms and earn a certificate upon completion
Funding to help with roadblocks to employment such as transportation, childcare, food security, etc.
Hands-on agriculture work experience
If you're between 14 and 30 years old and curious about farming, food, or green careers, this program is for you!
No experience needed.
